2 dead in motorcycle crash, including UT-Martin student



MARTIN, Tn. - A University of Tennesee at Martin student and a Martin restaurant manager died in a motorcycle crash on Parkers Levee Road.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol report, the time of the crash is unknown, but the bodies of Logan Hughes and Jimmy D. Fitzgerald were found Saturday.

Hughes is a Computer Science Major and Fitzgerald is the manger of the Opera House Restauant.

Hughes was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. 

THP says Hughes and Fitzgerald were traveling on southbound on Parkers Levee Road when Hughes, the driver, failed to negotiate a curve.  The motorcycle left the roadway, went down an embankment and hit a tree.  Hughes and Fitzgerald were thrown from the motorcycle.

THP says Hughes was wearing a helmet, but Fitzgerald was not.
