DRESDEN, Tenn. (AP) - Weakley County school officials have
approved a lawsuit settlement with two families who said their
children had health problems because of mold in Martin school
buildings.
The Board of Education voted unanimously on Monday to ask the
Weakley County Commission to move $695,000 from the undesignated
fund balance to pay for the settlement.
Director of Schools Randy Frazier told The Jackson Sun the
settlement must still be approved by the commission and by Circuit
Court Judge William Acree. Settlement would end the dispute that
began three years ago.
Once final approval is reached, a neutral party will perform a
final inspection of Westview High School and Martin Middle School.
