Interstate 155 Mississippi River Bridge reopens in Dyersburg after barge hit
UPDATE (9:30 a.m.): The Interstate 155 Connector Bridge between US 51 in Dyersburg, Tennessee and Interstate 55 in Missouri has reopened.
DYERSBURG, Tenn. - The Interstate 155 Connector Bridge between US 51 in Dyersburg, Tennessee and Interstate 55 in Missouri is closed after a barge reportedly struck the bridge.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation and Missouri Department of Transportation report that the bridge will be closed for 2-4 hours to allow for inspectors to check the bridge. The US Coast Guard is assisting with the inspection.
The bridge serves as a detour route for the Dorena-Hickman Ferry, which has been closed since Monday due to high water.
The nearest detour routes are via the I-40 Mississippi River Bridge at Memphis and via the US 51/US 60/US 62 Ohio River Bridge between Wickliffe, Kentucky, and Cairo, Illinois, which connects to the US 60/US 62 Mississippi River Bridge into Missouri.
