UNION CITY, Tenn. - A man accused of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend at gunpoint led police on a long chase Wednesday in Tennessee.

Keith Higgins was arrested and charged with multiple counts related to the kidnapping and chase.

Union City Police say he barged into his ex-girlfriend's house with a gun and threatened two others in the home.

The chase with Higgins began near his ex-girlfriend's home on Norwood Drive.

Police say Higgins swerved in and out of traffic, and intentionally hit a police car as he drove to the Fred's store in Tiptonville.

That's when police say he got out of the car and ran through a housing development, before being caught.

The ex-girlfriend went to a nearby hospital for treatment.
