MARTIN, Tenn. - An early morning crash sent a Martin-Westview student to the hospital.

Cameron Cates, the son of UT Martin Baseball coach Bubba Cates, was driving to school on Highway 22, Friday, when he hit an icy patch and lost control of his vehicle.  He wasn't wearing a seat belt, and was thrown from the vehicle.

Cates was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, and WCMT reports that Cates will be in the hospital through the weekend.
