Lane, turn restrictions on IL Hwy 13
JACKSON COUNTY, Ill. - The Illinois Department of Transportation would like to alert drivers of intersection improvements which will reduce some lanes of traffic and restrict some turns.
Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 14th, at 9:00 a.m., weather permitting, at the intersection of Illinois State Highway 13 and Old Illinois State Highway 13. (Also known as Murphysboro Road)
As a result of the work, the following restictions will be in place:
Eastbound IL 13 - Traffic will be reduced to one lane, using the passing lane. Traffic will be controlled by flagmen.
Easbound Old IL 13 - Traffic will be allowed to proceed Eastbound using the right turn/merge lane. But traffic will not be allowed to proceed through the intersection to New Era Road, and will not be allowed to turn left (Westbound) onto new IL 13.
Westbound IL 13 - Traffic will not be allowed to turn left onto Old IL 13.
These restrictions are expected to be in place throughout the day on Monday.
Drivers are asked to slow down, use caution, and be alert to workers and equipment when traveling through this intersection. To avoid any delay, select an alternate route.
