Maurice Moore Rollins, age 91, of Barlow, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 1:19 pm at Lourdes Hospital surrounded by family and friends. Mrs. Rollins was a farmer's wife who loved her home and being with the family. She had lived in the same house since 1943 where she enjoyed reading, decorating, watching TV and working in her yard. In the early years of her marriage she worked as a supervisor at the Canning Factory in Barlow. She was a life-long member of Barlow First Baptist Church where she was a member of the TEL class, a Kentucky Colonel and served on the Ballard County Democratic Committee at one time. Maurice Rollins is survived by a daughter Peggy Piper (Joe Ben) of Barlow and a son, Larry Keith Rollins (Marcy) of Barlow and five grandchildren, Keytha Piper Cooper, Barlow, Amanda Ruth Rollins, Greenville, SC, Kelly Piper Harris (Jim) of Barlow, Leranda Lee Kraeling of Maldin, SC, and Anna Richelle Rollins of Barlow. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Kassie Maureen Bell of Barlow, Kelsey Piper Waldon of Barlow, Elija Gregg of Greenville, SC, Saranna Rene' Rollins of Columbia, SC and Kody Shae Waldon of Barlow. She leaves behind a brother, Guy Nickie Moore (Sylvia) of Georgetown, Ky, and a niece LaDonna June Richards (Tom) of Georgetown, KY. Mrs. Rollins was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Clifford L. Rollins, her parents Guy Marshal Moore and Okla Terrell Moore, and two nephews Dennis Roger Moore and Guy Nickie Moore, Jr. Her grandparents were Frank and Mary Hall Terrell and Marshall and Mary Margaret Dunn Moore. Funeral services for Maurice Rollins will be at 2:00 pm Saturday at First Baptist Church of Barlow with Rev. DeWayne Chadwick officiating and burial in Barlow Cemetery.
