Mr. Jimmy Charles Black, 82, of Salem, KY, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2013, at Baptist Health of Paducah.
He was born on tuesday, February 10th, 1931. Mr. Black retired from VMV Paducahbilt in 1993.
Jimmy was involved in many activities over the years. Jimmy loved the ministry, and bible study; trapping; hunting; welding; and playing high nine just to name a few. Jimmy was active in the ministry. He lead a bible study at his home for many years in addition to being pastor of Calvary Baptist Church on three different occasions. Jimmy was a lifetime member of the NRA, and the 2nd Amendment Commission to Keep and Bear Arms.
He is survived by his wife, Terry Black; son, Charles Black and his wife Susan of Carrsville, KY; two step-sons, Charlie DeBoe and his wife Ann of Marion, KY, Billy DeBoe and his wife Tiffany of Marion, KY; two step daughters, Donna Kuester of Evansville, IN and Connie Riley and her husband Joe of Eddyville, KY; sister-in-law, Paula Hurst and her husband Tommy of Marion, KY; nine grandchildren, Jessie, Amanda, Justin, Brandon, Adam, Daley, Trey, Kirsten, Caden; two great grandchildren; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first love, Helen Croft Black; four sisters; one brother; and his parents, Russell and Nina Brown Black.
Friends may call after 5PM, Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Boyd Funeral Directors in Salem.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 5, 2013, at 2PM, at Boyd Funeral Directors in Salem, with Dustin Hurst officiating.
Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.
