Obituary for Edward G. Milton
EDWARD GENE MILTON - Possum Trot, Kentucky

Born August 21, 1930 passed away at age 82 on July 20, 2013 at Marshall County hospital unexpectedly. With his unfailing curiosity, he always wondered "what happened to them" he would want others to know we believe he had a massive stroke doing what he wanted to do during an uneventful morning.

Mr. Milton (would always rather be know as Ed or Eddie or Granddaddy) enjoyed his life to the fullest. He loved fishing for anything that would bite and chuckle hardily when he would catch something and no one else did.

Always the optimist he overcame having a stroke in May of 2012 and was determined even more to do as much as he could. He still push mowed and weed-eated with the best of them, often making others around him tired with his energy.

He was proud of his Army service with the 101st Airborne Division. He was honorably discharged in June 1952 having served overseas during the Korean War. A quote from him to the local newspaper regarding his enlistment "...I would rather volunteer. Besides, I think the Army would do me a lot of good. I have always wanted to do a little traveling and $75 a month with room and board and all medical care isn't too hard to take..."

Forever a flirt he never failed to bring a smile to all that knew him. No one in a doctor's office or restaurant could resist his charm and attitude as he entertained them with his quick wit and smiles.

He is survived by his daughters, Karolyn Skees (husband - James) of Fredonia and Lisa Lenear (husband - Charles) of Possum Trot, siblings, Ruth Dean Blunkall of Dawson Springs, William Milton (wife - Mary Jane) of Murray, Kay Hopper (husband - James) of Madisonville and sister in law Carole Milton of Huntsville, AL. Everyone called him Granddaddy so we're safe to say he had more grandchildren and great grandchildren than we can count. {Chad (Becky), April (Chuck), Andrew (Lacy), Vincent (Sara), John (Kristi), James (Jessie)} along with all the great grandchildren and numerous other family members that he was willing to claim.

To honor his wishes no visitation or formal services will be held. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday July 27 between the hours of 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM at the Kentucky Dam Marina pavilions #3 with family and friends sharing stories of his life and antics he was famous for.
