Children's Programming Quarterly Report

WPSD-TV is committed to providing quality programming to serve the educational and informational needs of children and youth.  NBC shows are telecast on Saturday mornings to meet this objective.  These programs are targeted for the 6  to 10 year age group and provide entertaining and informative features.  Our current line-up includes:

9:00 a.m. Zula Patrol

9:30 a.m. Shelldon

10:00 a.m. Jane and the Dragon

10:30 a.m. Babar

11:00 a.m. Willa’s Wild Life

11:30 a.m. Pearlie

In addition to our Saturday morning core, WPSD-TV offers “Pets.TV” Sunday mornings which is directed to the 13 to 16 year age segment.  This program provides insight into the relationship between humankind and animals. 

On WPSD-6.2 RetroTV, a block of programs targeted to 13 – 16 year olds is aired from 7:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. on Sundays.

Byron Allen interviews persons who have become famous through athletic accomplishments on “The American Athlete.”  These individuals discuss their lives and serve as role models.  This program is telecast at 7:00 a..m.

 “Jack Hanna’s Animal Adventures” follows at 7:30 a.m. and provides close up looks at wildlife and their habitats.  The relationship between humans and the environment is also emphasized.

“Young Icons” profiles youth who have achieved early successes and looks at the traits and influences in their lives.

The Retro Television Network provides programs Mondays through Fridays at 7:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. that are targeted to children and youth.

Mondays:   Mustard Pancakes and Wild America

Tuesdays:  Virus Attack and Angel’s Friends

Wednesdays:  Passport to Explore and Laura McKenzie’s Traveler

Thursdays:  Animal Atlas and Mustard Pancakes

Fridays:   Monsters and Pirates and Ariel, Zoey, and Eli Too
