On Wednesday, the city of Paducah and Paducah Tilghman High School will honor the state champion Blue Tornado football team.

The school will hold a ceremony featuring Paducah mayor Bill Paxton at 1:30 at the PTHS auditorium. The ceremony is open to the public.

Following the ceremony, the team will take part in a downtown parade.

The parade route will start at 9th and Broadway in downtown Paducah and will run towards the river.

The parade is scheduled to start between 3:15 and 3:30pm on Wednesday.

Tilghman capped off an improbable run to the state title by beating Somerset 21-0 in the 3A state championship on Saturday.

The Tornado, at one time were 3-6, won the school's third state title and first since 1985.
