Paducah Tilghman junior Josh Forrest has been one of the most highly-touted basketball recruits in western Kentucky ever since he entered high school. Monday he committed to the University of Kentucky. Not for basketball, but for football.

Forrest played his first season of varsity football in 2009 and made an immediate impact. He not only caught the game-winning touchdown in the state semifinals against Louisville Central, but he picked off three passes in Tilghman's state championship win over Somerset.

Tilghman coach Randy Wyatt told Local 6 UK plans to use Forrest on offense at wide receiver, at least to start.

We hope to hear from Forrest Tuesday on WPSD Local 6 at 6.
