Although undefeated, Massac County's softball team feels no pressure

It's been a magical season thus far for the Massac County softball team. The Lady Patriots are 24-0-1, just three games away from wrapping up an undefeated season.

As a team, Massac County's batting average is .400 this season. The Lady Patriots have scored 216 runs so far, and have allowed just 48.

Head coach Pat Clark says with the end of the regular season in sight-- the question everyone is starting to ask is simple. Are the Lady Patriots feeling any pressure?

"I don't feel it," Clark admitted. "And when I come to practice, when we show up at the ballpark, this is the loosest bunch of kids I've seen in a long time. I don't think they're worried about it. Their mission is to come out and play hard, and play our kind of softball. If there is pressure, they've yet to show it to me, and I hope I'm not showing any in front of them.

Massac County has three games remaining on their schedule. The Lady Patriots are at home for two, starting against Calloway County on Monday the 6th, two days later they host Pope County. Finally, they wrap up the regular season Saturday the 11th at Johnston City.
