Ballard Memorial product Jones drafted by Padres
On the final day of the Major League Baseball draft, the San Diego Padres picked former Ballard Memorial star pitcher James Jones in 33rd round. Jones turned down a chance in 2009 to go pro when Cleveland drafted him in the 45th round. Instead of going pro, Jones opted to return to school. After wrapping up his college career at UL-Monroe, Jones got the call he's been waiting on.
