It was a special day for Kentucky basketball fans in Paducah.

The NCAA National Championship Trophy made its way into western Kentucky this afternoon. Wildcats head coach John Calipari brought the trophy to Kroger on Park Avenue in Paducah.

Thousands of fans were there to take a picture with Calipari and the trophy.

Many fans were in a state of disbelief that Calipari would make the long trip to Paducah. Make no mistake, they were all very excited when he arrived.

One fan who was particularly excited was Charles Hillman. He celebrated his 87th birthday while attending the event. He jokingly said he expected Calipari to bring him a present, and the National Championship Trophy was all he wanted.
