Calloway County team wins first ever state fishing championship

HARDIN, KY-- Despite poor weather this weekend, Calloway County's Bracken Robertson and Dillon Starks stormed back in the second day of the KHSAA state bass fishing championship to win the event.

After finishing day one with a haul of 15 pounds, 12 ounces, the Calloway duo reeled in over 18 and a half pounds on Saturday. Robertson and Starks finished the two day event with ten fish, weighing in at 34 pounds, 4 ounces.

Trigg County's Mason Shelton and Austin Greene finished fifth, with a total weight of 29 pounds, 9 ounces for ten bass.

Marshall County had two teams finish in the top twelve, James Gibbs and Aidan Cox reeled in 27 and a half pounds worth. While Logan Thomas and Nate Jones finished with 26 and a half total. Lyon county's Tyler Martin and Hannah Johnson finished 21st.
