Canaan, Daniel impress at Nike camps

In the last month, Murray State senior guard Isaiah Canaan worked at a pair of Nike Skills camps, hosted by NBA stars Deron Williams and Chris Paul.  The camps were invite-only and gave some of the best guards in the country the chance to work with two elite NBA players.
Canaan said he was able to pick the brains of both Williams and Paul.  The senior guard said both guys talk to him about the pace at which he plays.  Going 100mph all the time isn't necessary -- and ultimately isn't that effective -- and that changing up his pace can make him a better player.
Canaan's teammate Ed Daniel made just as big of an impression last weekend in Chicago at the Amar'e Stoudemire Skills Academy Camp.  The Stoudemire camp was for the top big guys in America.  One NBA agent at the camp took notice of Daniel.  On Twitter, the agent goes by the handle @ProBBallDraft. He wrote: "Ed Daniel of Murray State is a name to watch. Will be drafted in 2013.  Might be one of the top players here at Amar'e camp. A lot of NBA teams had scouts present. Daniel was explosive, moved very well and crashed the glass. Had a few wow moments."
Canaan, Daniel and the rest of the Racers will return to practice in July.  Due to a new NCAA rule, the team can practice for two hours per week during the summer, but coach Steve Prohm says he'll just stick to individual workouts instead of working the team out as a whole.
