MURRAY, KY-- Former two-time OVC player of the year Isaiah Canaan visited Murray this past weekend, taking some time to visit with fans and watch the Racers against Eastern Illinois.
Canaan said he used the NBA All-Star break not only to visit his alma mater, but also to take it easy and rehab an injured hamstring. The Houston Rockets guard says he's now healthy, and ready to get back to action for Houston's D-League team in Rio Grande Valley.
The former All-American also admitted it was difficult to sit on the bench during his time with Houston, when he played just twelve minutes in five games before he was sent back down to Rio Grande Valley.
Watching the Racers as a fan instead of playing, was also an admittedly odd experience for Canaan. But he said it was nice to see what everyone else sees during the action.
