Canaan held out of summer league due to ankle injury
The Houston Rockets started summer league play in Orlando on Sunday, but they did so without second round draft pick Isaiah Canaan. Canaan is recovering from a sprained ankle that he tweaked during pre-draft workouts a few weeks ago.
Canaan says that the Rockets plan to hold him out for the entirety of the Orlando summer league, so his ankle can fully recover in time for training camp.
Shortly after the Rockets beat Philadelphia in their first summer league game on Sunday, Canaan reached out to his fans on Twitter:
"It eats me up that I can't get out there and battle with my bros. But to everyone that supports me, I want my ankle 100% before I'm back."
Training camps usually start around early October, so Canaan should have plenty of time to get the ankle healthy.
