Croaker decommits from Murray State

December 2nd was one of the biggest recruiting days in recent Murray State basketball history.  On that day, Demarcus Croaker, a player some scouting services had listed as a 4-star player, verbally committed to Steve Prohm and the Racers.  It appeared Croaker had picked Murray State over Texas.

Verbal commitments are not binding. Since he couldn't sign his letter of intent until April, teams were able to continue to recruit Croaker -- especially Texas.

Croaker has now decommitted from Murray State. While it doesn't look good, this doesn't necessarily mean Croaker won't end up at Murray State -- but it also looks like he's now a whole lot closer to going to Texas.

"I decommitted because I felt I put all my eggs in one basket, took one visit and committed," Croaker told ESPN.com today. "I am taking an official visit to Texas this weekend. I like the program, the coaches and how they develop players. Texas is the leader."

Steve Prohm now has two holes to fill in his recruiting class for next year.  Three guys have already signed: Cameron Payne, a point guard from Memphis; Jarvis Williams, a 6'8" JUCO forward out of Georgia; and TJ Sapp, who is already with the team after transferring in from Clemson.  Sapp will be eligible to play in December.
