Dreammaker Classic takes place in Marshall County
BENTON, KY -- The 8th annual Dreammaker Classic began Saturday morning at Marshall County with the hopes of raising money for the Marshall County Exceptional Center.
Marshall County Head Coach Mike Johnson began the Dreammaker Classic when he was the head baseball coach at Livingston Central High School. The event was set up as an opportunity for local baseball teams to give back to their community by volunteering their talents on and off the field.
Nine teams participated in this years tournament in which all proceeds from the gate and concessions go to a designated charity.
This years charity is the Marshall County Exceptional Center, an organization set up to provide classes and eventually a school for children with disabilities. Johnson said that he expects to raise at least 1,500 for this years event.
In 8 years the Dreammaker Classic has raised nearly 8,000 dollars in proceeds that have gone to different charities.
