Drivers, fans happy for dry start at Paducah International Raceway
PADUCAH, KY-- It's that time of year again, as the green flag is dropped on racing season at Paducah International Raceway.
Last year, PIR had it's action suspended for about six weeks, due to flood waters that covered the track and most of the parking lot. PIR co-owner Bob Sargent says the facility of course lost money during that time, while drivers had to travel elsewhere to race.
Racing eventually continued at Paducah International Raceway last year. Now a year after the floods, the track is dry, and the sound of engines is like music to the ears of Sargent, drivers, and of course, fans. Sargent says this year for PIR is all about regaining their momentum.
