Final Prohm summer camp to feature Canaan
Murray State head men’s basketball coach Steve Prohm announced Wednesday former Racer star Isaiah Canaan will be part of the fun at the final Steve Prohm Basketball Camp at the CFSB Center in Murray, Ky., July 29 through Aug. 1.
“I’m very glad that Isaiah can come back and help with our final camp,” Prohm said of Canaan, who was recently selected by the Houston Rockets in the NBA Draft. “We’re excited to have him back and it will be a great experience for the kids.”
Canaan, who was selected by the Rockets in June as the 34th overall pick, is the first MSU player to be drafted into the NBA since Marcus Brown in 1996. Canaan finished his career as the sixth Murray State player to reach 2,000 points and the 17th in the Ohio Valley Conference.
“It will feel good to be back at Murray State with my extended family,” Canaan said. “I’m looking forward to being there.”
The camp which is open to boys and girls age 7 through those entering seventh grade, is the final Prohm Camp of the summer and promises a great time of basketball.
Steve Prohm Basketball Camp is a great experience for the children as they learn the fundamentals of the game from an experienced staff of instructors. Each camper will have an exciting and rewarding time at the CFSB Center.
