At Ohio Valley Conference football media day on Monday, Murray State football coach Chris Hatcher said he was really looking to find some depth at the running back position. Tuesday, that depth appeared to improve greatly as former Ohio State running back Jaamal Berry told Scout.com he was coming to Murray State, and he would be ready to play right away.

In the article, Berry said: "I'm excited to be headed to Murray State. They really pursued me after I left Ohio State, and I have a great opportunity there. I should be the starting tailback the next two seasons, and I'm on track to graduate next year. Life is good for me."

Murray State's football SID says Coach Hatcher is unable to comment on Berry since he's neither a member of Murray State's team nor enrolled at the school.  Murray State's registrar confirmed Wednesday afternoon Berry was not yet enrolled. *Yet* may ultimately be the key word in that sentence.

Berry still has two years of eligibility left. He was a four-star recruit out of high school but never really panned out at Ohio State. The Buckeyes dismissed him back in October for his role in an on-campus fight where police charged him with assault.  He pleaded guilty to that charge last month.
