Information on Davis' Paducah appearancePADUCAH, Ky. – Anthony Davis, who swept virtually every college basketball player-of-the-year award while leading the University of Kentucky Wildcats to their eighth NCAA championship last month, will make a three-hour appearance this Monday, May 14, at Royal Oaks Chevrolet Cadillac. The first-team All-American center will be at the Paducah automobile dealership this coming Monday from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m. Davis will add his autograph for no charge on limited edition prints available for purchase starting at $65. He will autograph items brought in by fans for a fee, with a portion of the proceeds going to charity. Davis, a 6-foot-10 freshman, led this season’s UK squad to a 38-2 record, culminating with a 67-59 championship-game win over Kansas on April 2 in New Orleans. A native of Chicago, the 19-year-old Davis has announced his intention to enter this June’s NBA draft and is expected to be the No. 1 overall pick. Davis set an NCAA Division I record for freshmen with 186 blocked shots this past season. He averaged 14.2 points and 10.4 rebounds per game, both team highs for the Wildcats. Last week, he became the only college player named along with 17 NBA players trying to make this summer’s 12-man United States Olympic basketball team.
