SPARTA, Ky. (AP) - Matt Kenseth looks forward to the day when he can talk about his car instead of his contract.

Far from a spotlight-seeker, Kenseth nonetheless has been the buzz of this weekend's NASCAR races at Kentucky Speedway after he announced on Tuesday he was leaving Roush Fenway Racing at the end of the season.

Team owner Jack Roush, for his part, said on Friday he was as surprised as anyone when he heard that Kenseth was bolting to a team yet to be disclosed.

With months remaining in the season, it's an awkward situation for everybody. From Roush and Kenseth to the sponsors and everybody on the crew to the support staff, they're all left to make the best of things while trying to work together to win races.
