It was a long day of softball for the Lone Oak Purple Flash at the KHSAA State Softball Tournament.

Game one went the Purple Flash's way. Lone Oak's offense had a great game against Owensboro Catholic. David Scheer's team scored four runs in the first two innings on their way to a 7-1 victory over the Aces, keeping Lone Oak in the winner's bracket.

Game two did not go so well for Lone Oak. Despite some timely hitting from Alex Sohl, the Flash would only score twice as Mercy Academy won the game 7-2. That sent Lone Oak to the loser's bracket, where they would have to play their third game of the day.

Their final showdown of the day was an elimination game against North Laurel. Lone Oak trailed by three runs going into the bottom of the seventh. The Flash then scored four runs to walk off with the win, 9-8.

Lone Oak will play Greenwood in their next game on Saturday. First pitch is set for 9:00 AM.
