McCracken County names spring sports coaches

Coaches for baseball, softball, and men’s and women’s tennis at McCracken County High School were announced today. 
McCracken County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Nancy Waldrop, McCracken County High School principal Michael Ceglinski and McCracken County High School activities director Kris Garrett were on-hand to announce the following coaches for extracurricular activities: baseball, softball, and men’s and women’s tennis.
Geno Miller was named baseball coach at McCracken County High School. Miller has been a head coach for 11 years, spending the last six years at Lone Oak High School.  He has a career record of 307-120 as a head coach, including eight district championships, five regional championships, and six state tournament appearances.  Miller led his team team to TSSAA State Runners Up in 2004 and won the TSSAA State Title in 2006. 
Tony Hayden was named softball coach at McCracken County High School. Hayden has been the head coach of the Reidland Greyhounds since 2007 and has a career record of 200-60 as a head coach.  Hayden has led his teams to five district titles, two regional titles, five Class “A” State Championships, and the 2010 KHSAA State Championship.  Prior to serving as head coach, Hayden was an assistant coach with the Greyhounds from 2001-2006 and was part of the 2002 KHSAA State Champion team and the 2006 Class “A” State Champion team.
Larry Heflin was named tennis coach at McCracken County High School. Heflin coached the Lone Oak High School tennis team for 40 years, guiding the team to 11 state championships - more than any other women’s program in the state. Heflin is a member of the USTA Kentucky Tennis Hall of Fame and was named National Coach of the Year by both the National High School Athletic Coaches Association and the National Federation of State High School Associations.
