Prohm could soon be getting contract extension

Murray State basketball coach Steve Prohm could soon be getting a contract extension. Prohm currently has three years left on the four-year deal he signed last March.  The maximum contract length he can have is four years -- that's a state law.
Murray State Athletics Director Allen Ward likes to have his basketball coaches with four years left on their contract so there is never a question about the coach's future when he's on the recruiting trail.
Ward told us Monday he can't announce anything yet on an extension for Prohm, but said he hopes to be able to comment on it soon.
Prohm is 52-12 in his two years as head coach at Murray State.
