CARBONDALE, IL. -- On Wednesday Southern Illinois introduced Cindy Stein as the 10th Women's Basketball coach in school history.

Stein takes over a program coming off of a 5-26 season. She replaces Missy Tiber who stepped down as head coach half way through the year.

Stein comes to SIU from Illinois Central College where she helped them to a 32-4 season, and a third place finish in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.

Prior to Illinois Central, Stein spent 12 seasons as the Head Coach at Missouri winning 185 games including a trip to the Sweet 16 in 2001.

In 1998, Stein was named NCAA Division II Coach of the Year after going 33-1 at Emporia State and runners-up for the National Title.
