Here's a look at some possible home games for the Racers in 2013-14.

As I wrote in my last entry, the majority of Murray State's basketball schedule for 2013-14 is set -- the dates are the only real mystery.  As is usually the case this time of year, Steve Prohm is still thin on home games.  The only games we know they have locked in are against Southern Illinois and a pair of Non-Division One opponents.  Prohm told me today he is talking to Evansville, Troy and Lipscomb about possibly playing in Murray next season.  It won't be all of them -- and may be just one of them -- but those are some possibilities for home games next year.
 
I love the possibility of starting up a series with Evansville. As far as I'm concerned, the Racers should be part of the "Missouri Valley-South." Between SIU, Evansville and Indiana State, I think it would be great for Murray to get on some sort of rotation with all of those schools.  The biggest reason is they're all close which gives fans a chance to travel to the road games. When you also look at the games from an RPI standpoint, playing Valley teams will usually only be a positive for the Racers.
 
The road schedule continues to look solid for the Racers.  With games at Western Kentucky, Old Dominion, St. Mary's, Valpo and a "money game", that's a heck of a slate of games.  We had talked earlier about how Prohm had talked with Dayton about pushing the final game in their series back to 2014-15 so as not to have too many road games next year.  He told me today Dayton now won't be able to play the game in 2014-15, so it will have to be next season.  If Prohm is able to get the Racers into another multi-team event, like the Charleston Classic last year, this could end up being the most challenging non-conference schedule in recent memory for Murray State.
