Sports blogThanks again to everybody for supporting our second-annual fundraiser for The Dream Factory. The Dream Factory helps grant dreams to critically ill children ages 3-18. For more information on the organization, you can visit them here www.dreamfactoryinc.org. Once again this year, I'll be doing a 24-hour venture to help raise awareness for The Dream Factory. Last year it was 24 hours of free throw shooting. We called it "Shooting for The Dream." This year we'll be "Putting for The Dream" with 24 hours of miniature golf. We'll be doing it at the Kentucky Shores Family Fun Center just south of Kentucky Dam. Our event will start at 6pm on Monday, September 27th and wrap up at 6pm on Tuesday, September 28th. In the meantime, we'll once again be auctioning off items here on WPSDLocal6.com to raise money for The Dream Factory. Please do not bid if you do not intend to pay for your item. Payment is expected within seven business days after an auction closes. Please be aware we can only take cash, checks or money orders. We are unable to accept credit card payments. To make a bid, send an email to auction@wpsdlocal6.com. Please include the item number, your bid, your name, address and phone number. You must live in the WPSD viewing area to bid on an item. I reserve the right to extend any auction while two people try to outbid each other. This eliminates people from trying to steal items in the final seconds. If you don't want to bid on an item, but would still like to help out, we will gladly accept a tax-deductible cash donation. You can send that pledge to us at donation@wpsdlocal6.com. There is a Dream Factory chapter in three of our states: Paducah, Dyersburg and St. Louis. Any money you give us will go the chapter in your state. The Paducah chapter is now handling all dream requests for southern Illinois. Any donated money from southern Illinois will go to the Paducah chapter but will help Illinois kids. If you have any questions about any of this, please feel free to email me at jbidwell@wpsdlocal6.com. We raised more than $10,700 last year. The bar has been set for 2010. On behalf of The Dream Factory, thank you in advance for all of your help. Money raised so far this year: $2,020. Here is a list of the items currently up for auction.
