3/14 Miller Time: Selection Sunday is here!

It's funny when you think about it, all college basketball teams play up to 35 games in a season just to see their name come across the TV screen on Selection Sunday.

A lot of work, but well worth it.

I have to admit, this is one of the most exciting sports days of the year. I've already been to every "bracketology" site imaginable. 5pm cannot get here soon enough.

It's been a banner year in the Miller household. For starters, Murray State is heading back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2006. I know they put in all the work, but I'm glad I get to reap some of the benefits. Myself and Jeff will be following the Racers to fill-in-the-black (Spokane, San Jose, New Orleans, Providence, Buffalo, Jacksonville, Milwaukee or Oklahoma City) It's the hardest we will work all year, but it will also be the most fun we have all year.

There is nothing like covering the NCAA Tournament.

And to make things a little better, UK has resurfaced from the gutter and returned to college basketball royalty. The 'Cats have a great shot at the overall #1 seed (assuming they handle MSU in SEC finals) Either way, they'll be a #1 seed and will be a favorite to make a run at Indy and the Final Four.

Louisville, Tennessee and Missouri are also on their way back to the big dance. Illinois is a question mark. The Illini are right on that proverbial bubble. At 19-14, they will be sweating it out until the selection show.

And the cherry on top. My alma mater, Ohio University, is headed back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2005. The Bobcats, the nine-seed in the MAC Tournament, made an unbelievable run this last week and capped it off with an overtime win over Akron in the MAC title game last night. Stand up and cheer!

Now if the NCAA could just be nice and put Murray State, Kentucky and Ohio all in the same region.

That would make March that much nicer.

Did I mention my birthday is next week?

Are you listening selection committee?

Continue to check out our blogs as we will be blogging multiple times a day throughout the NCAA Tournament all the way to the Final Four in Indy!
