SIU Edwardsville wins with balanced scoring 65-60

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) - Kris Davis and Mark Yelovich led a balanced scoring effort with 11 points each and SIU-Edwardsville defeated Murray State 65-60 on Thursday night.
     
SIU-Edwardsville (9-13, 9-3 Ohio Valley) also got 10 points from Derian Shaffer and 11 rebounds from Michael Messer.
     
The team had a 21-7 scoring advantage off turnovers and 15-4 edge off the bench.
     
Murray State (18-6, 9-3), which led by 2 points at the half, got 20 points apiece from Stacy Wilson and Isaiah Canaan. Dexter Fields had nine rebounds.
     
Before the game, SIU-Edwardsville coach Lennox Forrester announced the suspension of senior forward Jerome Jones for the remainder of the season. Forrester said Jones has not met the expectations and standards he has for the team.
