After dominating western Kentucky for several years, former Caldwell County golf standout Emma Talley is hoping to continue that domination in college. Talley and her teammates at Alabama are beginning the spring season in defense of their first NCAA title.
The Tide are in second at the Puerto Rico Classic after Sunday's opening round. Talley carded a one over par 73 Sunday. Earlier in the week, Alabama coach Mic Potter said Talley definitely doesn't play like a freshman, and she's a breath of fresh air to the team.
"Obviously Emma can play, but she brings a great deal of personality, and keeps us kind of loose too," Potter said. "So chemically, she's a good addition for us, and it really helps our team energy a lot having Emma around."
