The focus for Murray State basketball coach Billy Kennedy is to get his team ready for the November 9th opener and beyond. Midway through the first week of practice, Kennedy isn't altogether pleased.

Defensively, the Racers have picked up where they left off last year. Offensively, though, Kennedy has seen struggles that he hopes will work themselves out sooner than later.

One bright spot so far for Murray State has been the play of guard Jewuan Long. He tore his ACL back in the 2008-09 season. Now nearly two years removed from that injury, Kennedy says Long has pretty much been the best player on the floor through the first week of practice.
