There is a very distinct line in the sand when it comes to Murray State's experience this year. Head coach Steve Prohm is starting four seniors and a junior. The only available players coming off the bench are six freshmen.

Prohm needs those freshmen to help out -- the sooner the better. One stood out above the rest last night in their exhibition game against Freed-Hardeman.

Freshman forward Jeffery Moss played 22 minutes, scoring 16 points and grabbing six rebounds.  Moss made his first four shots on the night -- three of those were from three-point range.

After the game, senior guard Isaiah Canaan said he wasn't surprised by the freshman's performance.

"We saw it coming with the practices we've been having," Canaan said. "It was just a matter of time. He really doesn't have any fear.  We just need him to get to know everything.  We knew coming in he was going to be one of the ones that would be helping us. He showed it tonight that he's going to be ready to play whenever he's called."

The Racers start for real Friday night against Brescia.
