Murray State basketball players serve as celebrity waiters
MURRAY, KY-- Isaiah Canaan and Stacy Wilson are used to pleasing the crowd while they're on the basketball court. But Thursday night, they had to please tables of hungry fans, and they had their fears going into it.
"Carrying the drinks, making sure you don't waste it on yourself, or anybody else that's sitting down," said Canaan.
"Probably trying to remember everything, what they order and stuff," Wilson admitted. "That's the most difficult think I have times with is remembering."
But that was a risk the players were willing to take to help the American Cancer Society, and the community.
"It's a great opportunity to be with the people that do a lot for the community, and they come out and support our games, so I wouldn't turn them down," Wilson said. "I just wanted to come out and be apart."
When it was all said and done, both Canaan and Wilson passed the test of serving, with flying colors.
"He's done a great job of getting the food out," said Betsy Whitfield of Murray, about Wilson. "He brought it out in the correct order, he's not spilled anything, and he's done it all with a smile."
