Murray State coach Billy Kennedy confirmed to us Wednesday the Racers will play in the 2011 Great Alaska Shootout.

This tournament is historically played right around Thanksgiving.

Not long ago, this was one of the most prestigious early season tournaments in college basketball. But with the recent influx of tournaments in Cancun, Puerto Rico and Anaheim, the tournament doesn't quite the top-tier teams it used to. With that said, this will still be great exposure for the Racers.

Kennedy says the complete eight-team field still hasn't been set for the Shootout. He says he does believe Murray State will be joined by Loyola and Southern Miss.
