Countdown to Gridiron Glory: Ballard Memorial Bombers
In Chris Cooper's first two seasons, he's led Ballard Memorial to one playoff win each year. But he's hoping to build off that success in 2010. He says 6-6 and 4-8 records are not acceptable forms of success.
Cooper will have a wealth of experience at the skilled positions this season. Quarterback Alex Mallory is back for his third year as starting quarterback. He'll have a lot of speed and athleticism to distribute the ball.
Alex Hill is back at receiver after a 1000-yard, 11 touchdown campaign in 2009. Chris Jones will make the move from wide receiver to the backfield this season.
The Bombers may be lacking size up front on the line, but they are expecting to make up for that in speed.
Ballard will open their season against 4A powerhouse Lone Oak before the get into district play in late September.
