Mayfield looking to return to title game

We started calling the Mayfield Cardinals "The Mayfield Machine" on Gridiron Glory earlier in the season.

It seems like they've really taken to the nickname.

Joe Morris' team has outscored their playoff opponents 162-15 so far.

Next up, the KHSAA Class 1A semi finals against Beechwood on Friday night.

Our honorary high school football statistician Scott Brown says a win for Mayfield would put them back into the KHSAA State Title Game for the 17th time in the last 35 years.

Cards head coach Joe Morris knows his team will be ready.  Kickoff from Mayfield between the Cardinals and Beechwood is at 7:30 on Friday night.

We'll hear from the Murray High Tigers later this week here on WPSD Local 6.
