Top 10 players of Gridiron Glory: #2 D'Juan Sherrill
PADUCAH, KY-- After two seasons of playing at Lone Oak, D'Juan Sherrill will suit up for Paducah Tilghman this season, and although he's just a junior, many coaches say he's the best running back in western Kentucky.
"Boy he's fast," said Marshall County head football coach Ron Barnard, shaking his head. "He's strong, and he as the ability to run around you, he has the ability to run through you. He's a difference maker."
"He's big, but he also has the moves," admitted Trigg County head coach Coby Lewis. "He has the power, he has some speed too, so he's a really good running back."
Paducah Tilghman head football coach Randy Wyatt says running back isn't the only position Sherrill will play this season.
"We're going to use D'Juan totally different from the way Lone Oak used him," Wyatt said. "He's too good of an athlete just to have him on one side of the football. We're going to use him in all three phases of the game, and maximize his athletic ability."
"To get their coaches attention and play both sides of the ball, that's a special kid," Barnard said.
That makes Sherrill the type of player that coaches dread playing against, so of course, Wyatt is happy he no longer has to.
"We didn't want to see D'Juan again," Wyatt said laughing. "He's apart of us now, so we're glad to have him, he's definitely been a blessing to our program. The student body loves him, the teachers love him, administrators love him, he's just a perfect fit for Paducah Tilghman."
