Barnard released from hospital after serious car accident
It's been an interesting two days for Marshall County football coach Ron Barnard and his family, to say the least. On Friday afternoon, Barnard was on his way back to the high school after running errands, when his son's truck that he was driving veered off the road and struck a tree. Barnard was then flown to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. Luckily, coach didn't receive any major injuries, so he was cleared from the hospital Sunday afternoon, and is back at home resting.
The main question Barnard wants to know now is, what caused him to veer off the road? Coach told us on the phone Sunday night, he has no recollection of what happened at all, and that all of his medical tests came back clean. He's absolutely healthy, so doctors aren't sure what happened to him, except for perhaps he fell asleep before the wreck. Barnard says he'll meet with some doctors in the area to research the issue, just for his peace of mind.
Barnard says the support he and his family have received over the weekend has been humbling. He adds that he's still very sore, so he'll take the next couple of days to rest.
