Goreville softball wins IHSA state championship

One more win and you get everything you've wanted all season long.

It's state championship day for the Goreville softball team. The Black Cats locking up with Payson-Seymour in the IHSA Class "1A" championship game.

The state title is going home with Goreville.

The Black Cats win in dominant fashion, 6-0. Starter Sydnee Rushing pitches seven innings of shutout ball, giving up just two hits, walking one, and striking out 13.

What a postseason for the Black Cats pitching staff. They did not give up a run in any of their playoff games.

Goreville finishes the season with a 35-4 and overall record.
