Local girls playing strong at KHSAA State Golf Championships
BOWLING GREEN, KY-- Mother nature was not kind to the KHSAA Girls State Golf Tournament on Tuesday. The second round of golfers were forced to tee off 45 minutes late due to rain, forcing many to finish at dusk, others weren't able to finish at all.
Calloway County's Anna Hack was able to fit in all 18, but barely. The sophomore shot a four-under par 68, which has her on top of the leaderboard. Marshall County's Cayce Hendrickson had a fantastic showing on the back nine, enabling her to finish the day in second, at an even par.
Heath's Sydney Trimble and Paducah Tilghman's Teri Doss were not able to finish 18, because play was suspended once it became dark. Trimble is tied for seventh, while Doss is tied for eleventh, they'll pick up again on Wednesday at 7 am. Trigg County's Madison Chaney finished the day tied for 34th at +11, and Graves County's Emily Whitnell is tied for 63rd at +17.
On the team leaderboard, Calloway County is in second, eight strokes behind Sacred Heart. Marshall County is tied for sixth, 27 strokes behind the leader.
