A day after winning their first-ever match at the KHSAA state volleyball tournament, Lone Oak's run came to an end Saturday morning against the #2 team in the country. The Purple Flash lost in the state quarterfinals to Louisville Assumption 25-15, 25-8 and 25-11.  Assumption has won 16 of the last 20 state championships.
Jasmine Bennett led Lone Oak with 11 kills while Hannah Parkers chipped in with 19 assists. Samantha Lawson had 13 digs.
While this is the last season of Lone Oak volleyball, it was also their greatest.  Their 36 wins are the most in program history.  The Flash also won their third-straight region championship to go along with winning that first-ever match at the state tournament.
Lone Oak ends their season at 36-5.
