MCU baseball performs community service

Mayfield, KY – The 2010 Mid-Continent University baseball team volunteered for three hours to assist Family Services of Paducah, directed by Pam Truitt, at Carson Park in Paducah, Kentucky, Friday, January 22.

Recently McCracken County Schools and Paducah Power System “Lights in the Park” program held canned food drives. Those organizations transported their food donations to Carson Park where MCU team members and head coach Shawn Yarbrough volunteered to separate the food into groups so Family Services can package it and distribute the goods to needy families and individuals throughout the Paducah and McCracken County area.

“It always feels good to give back time to our community whenever the opportunity presents itself,” said Yarbrough. “Our players truly enjoyed the time helping the Ms. Truitt and the Family Services staff with this project.”
