NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Communities across the country are cleaning up after strong storms destroyed homes, knocked out power for thousands of people and toppled power lines and trees. Forecasters in Kentucky say some areas got softball-sized hail yesterday and an EF-3 tornado touched down in East Tennessee. No one was hurt.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Congressman Ed Whitfield says his wife didn't improperly spur him to introduce a bill concerning the possible abuse of Tennessee Walking Horses. The Kentucky Republican says he planned to file the Prevent All Soring Tactics Act regardless of his wife's role with the Humane Society.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - One man is dead and two others are hurt after getting shot at motorcycle club in Pike County. State police have charged Daniel Ward with murder in the killing of killing 29-year-old Bradley Coleman. The wounded men haven't been identified.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - The U.S. Postal Service is offering a commemorative envelope this week in Louisville in honor of the 45th annual Street Rod Nationals. The vintage cars and trucks are returning to Louisville, where the convention runs Thursday through Sunday. The envelopes cost $10.
