LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - The Kentucky Supreme Court has reinstated a damage award to the family of a teenage informant killed while working for police. However, the court also lowered the amount the state must pay. The high court ordered the Kentucky Board of Claims to pay $148,787 to the family of LeBron Gaither of Bardstown.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky's retirement system will get $23 million to cover a $21 million loss because of the risky mortgage-backed securities it purchased from Bank of America and its related companies. Attorney General Jack Conway says he believes this is the largest fraud recovery ever for the retirement system.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - The Kentucky Supreme Court has upheld a death sentence for a six-time convicted killer. The high court rejected multiple claims by 57-year-old Michael Dale St. Clair that a Bullitt County judge erred in handling his resentencing in 2012. St. Clair was convicted of killing distillery worker Francis "Frank" Brady of Bardstown.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A nearly 16-pound ham has sold for $2 million at the Kentucky State Fair. Republic Bank paid $1 million and Hermitage Farm Charities joined with Bridgeman Foods to pay $1 million to buy the ham today as part of a charity auction.
