LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Former President Bill Clinton will make two appearances in Kentucky next week with Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes. Grimes' campaign says Clinton will be at events in Lexington and Hazard tomorrow. Grimes is trying to unseat Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and is the daughter of longtime Clinton friend Jerry Lundergan.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A Jefferson County jury has recommended the death penalty for a Louisville man convicted of raping and killing a woman in 1983. It's the first time in nearly a decade that a Jefferson County jury has recommended sending a defendant to death row.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Weather officials say a tornado touched down in southeastern Kentucky but caused little damage. Forecaster Tony Edwards of the National Weather Service office in Jackson says an EF-1 tornado carrying winds of around 75 mph touched down in southern Leslie County for a minute or so Sunday.

HENDERSON, Ky. (AP) - Drivers traveling between Henderson, Kentucky, and Evansville, Indiana, on the U.S. 41 Twin Bridges should expect lane restrictions starting Monday. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says a detailed inspection will be taking place. The bridges carry some 37,000 vehicles across the Ohio River daily.
