CARBONDALE, Ill. - A man who admitted that he failed to register as a sex offender in southern Illinois is headed to jail.
49-year-old Thomas L. Hudson pleaded guilty to Unlawful Use of a Debit Card and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and was sentenced to prison Thursday.
Carbondale Police say they found Hudson after he used a stolen debit card at two businesses. That's when police say they discovered he was a registered sex offender from Cook County and he failed to register in Carbondale.
Hudson will spend the next three and a half years in jail prison and will serve a year of mandatory supervised release afterward.
