Six vandalize abandoned ATO fraternity house

MARTIN, TN - Six people, all under the age of 23 were arrested after breaking in and vandalizing an abandoned fraternity house.

Thursday, May 1, police were called out to the abandoned ATO fraternity house at 224 Hannings Lane for an open window.

When authorities arrived, they noticed that the doors had been kicked in, windows broken by rocks and bricks, broken lights, air vents, stair railings, ceiling fans and exit signs. Two broken shutters from the roof were on the back patio. Both buildings on the property were damaged.

Total damage for the house is estimated around $7,200.

Police began an investigation and found that six males in total participated in the burglary and vandalism.

Stephen Johnson, 23, Christian Couser, 18, Kellen Phillips, 19, Keagan Parker, 19, Mitchell Langley, 18, and Jemarri Crawford, 18 were all drinking when they broke into the ATO house.

Crawford was charged with Aggravated Burglary; all other offenders were charged with Aggravated Burglary and Felony Vandalism.
