WEST FRANKFORT, Ill. (AP) -
A man was arrested after backing his rolling meth lab into a police cruiser and then running away.
Sunday, May 4, the West Frankfort Police Department tried to pull over a full size black pickup truck going north on Route 37.
The truck pulled over only after hitting a concrete curve in the 800 block of North Logan Street.
Officers pulled up behind the truck. The driver, Corey A. Beers then backed up, hitting the squad car two times trying to escape.
Beers then left his truck, trying to run away before he was caught and arrested, taken into custody.
Officers searched the truck, finding numerous illegal narcotics and a meth lab. Illinois State Police Meth response team responded and dismantled the lab.
Beers was transported to the Franklin County Jail and charged with resisting a peace officer, unlawful possession of controlled substance, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, criminal damage to government supported property, defective windshield, operating uninsured motor vehicle, speeding over 30 miles per hour posted limit, driving with a revoked driver's license, aggravated fleeing attempting to elude, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
